About Us

Dallas County H.O.P.E.S. is a group of community organizations that have come together to make sure that young children in north Texas grow up in a safe and healthy environment. As a local non-profit organization, Dallas County H.O.P.E.S. can help families with young children create the best possible environment for them to grow and thrive.

The most important years in a child’s development are birth to age five. Children are growing, learning and developing each day. As parents, it is our role and responsibility to make sure that our kids have everything they need to be healthy, safe, and prepared for school and life. Dallas County H.O.P.E.S. is available to families that want to learn, improve, or better their parenting skills for their children.

Dallas Morning News (4/19/17) - "The root cause of people repeatedly flowing into our social welfare and corrections systems is often child maltreatment. A landmark study by Kaiser Permanente and the Centers for Disease Control surveyed Kaiser's 17,000 patients to determine the major drivers of health care costs for diseases such as obesity, diabetes, heart disease and cancer.

They found that in step-wise fashion, the more adverse childhood experiences (ACEs) their patients suffered, sexual or physical abuse, neglect, parent incarceration and similar events, the more likely these patients engaged in maladaptive coping behaviors such as substance abuse, smoking and poor eating, which contributed to life-threatening disease in adulthood.

Additionally, children suffering multiple ACEs often exhibited

socio-emotional difficulties in school, disruptive or violent behavior, teenage pregnancy, dropouts or expulsions. These children enter our CPS, foster care, juvenile justice and later corrections systems, costing all citizens precious dollars and resources.

But we know how to reduce these expenditures: Family support programs prevent ACEs by working with families early on to break the cycle of child maltreatment, abandonment and abuse. They have been proved to reduce incidents of child maltreatment and produce stronger families."

Every child deserves the opportunity to grow up in a

safe & loving environment & every family needs a

supportive & caring community in order to thrive.

We are committed to turning “HOPE” into reality.
